Our Reading Share Day

This week in Bumblebee class, we shared some ways of developing early reading skills in our Reading Share Morning. There were lots of games and activities to do that we do in school together and we hope that you got some ideas to try at home.

There was a rhyming game called Silly Soup in the Potion Den.

There were some Nursery Rhymes to sing and objects to match to song.

We played phonic bingo and made wands to use as pointers when we are sounding out words.

We read and retold the story of The Room on the Broom and shared stories with children from Kestrel class.

Then we followed instructions to make apple aliens and magical play dough.

We practised our phonic skills running to graphemes, reading real and rubbish words in the sandpit and reading words that we had to then do; hop, jump run. There was a tower of common exception word to build and magic potions to make.

Thank you to everyone for supporting this day. We hope to have some more about writing and Maths later in the year.

Our First Learning Journey Family Time and Our First School Visit

This week, our families came to see our Learning Journeys and to find out about all the new things things that we have been learning.

On Wednesday, we had a brilliant visit to Bressingham Steam Museum.

We went in the minibus for the first time and had a ride on the steam trains and the gallopers.

We looked for different shapes, letters and numbers all around us.

Mrs Sullivan and Mrs Fisher were so proud of us for listening so carefully and for being so confident on our first adventure out of school.
